Your child will receive expert instruction from a former NASA rocket scientist and Princeton University Research Fellow. Dr. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Engineering Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology and a PhD in Mathematics Education. With over 25 years of classroom teaching experience, Professor Phillips founded a mathematics honor society and personally trained an award-winning team of students who competed in four national mathematics competitions. Dr. Phillips has also conducted groundbreaking national research and is the inventor and author of a revolutionary new way of teaching mathematics based on engaging and entertaining stories, games, and animations called The Animation of Mathematics.

About The Phillips Academy

Dr. Phillips established The Phillips Academy because he cares and is passionate about teaching mathematics in an engaging, transformative manner.

The Phillips Academy employs a unique teaching methodology invented by Dr. Phillips, called "The Animation of Mathematics." The Animation of Mathematics uses stories, games, and animations to present complicated and involved mathematics concepts in an easy-to-understand and memorable way. This allows students to learn complex mathematics topics in a fraction of the time and to retain the knowledge indefinitely. As a result, we are able to teach all the material in a college preparatory math course utilizing two-hour weekly classes with an additional hour of online Skype tutoring support. Expert teachers who know the story of math from beginning to end drive our curriculum. We do not allow a textbook to dictate our lesson plans. We have custom-crafted our own homework and practice problems that intensely cover the material. This allows the students to thoroughly practice the new topics while only needing to complete 20 homework problems per week. Our classroom is an engaging environment that fosters transformative mathematics education.

Here's What People Are Saying About The Phillips Academy:

Tuition is $25 per student per class per week for the Basic Math/Pre-Algebra, Introductory Algebra, Geometry, Intermediate Algebra, Pre-Calculus and Calculus classes. The academic year runs September through May. Our two-hour classes will be held once a week for a total of thirty weeks with an additional one hour per week of online tutoring.
